Online Schools in the Current Crisis (Breakout Session 3)
In this presentation, we will discuss the important elements in running an online school. Specifically in light of COVID-19, districts need to be prepared to go to an online model almost instantly. Parents and guardians are seeing what is being sent home and based on that, they are making judgments - correct or incorrect. With this in mind and with all of the chaos, where should you focus? Then, as the dust settles, what should you look to do next. This is the one chance schools have where families are affording latitude.

This presentation will include: where to focus right now in terms of getting your school successfully online; where to focus your attention while we finish out the school year; what you need to think about as you plan a model that your district can maintain; and what are the "must-haves" in order to set the climate and culture of your online school.

For individuals looking to open an online charter school, these topics are also applicable; however, they need to be placed in a larger context.
